Michał Karbownik is a Polish left-back who joins İstanbul Başakşehir on a free transfer from Hertha BSC. He is a technical, attack-minded full-back who offers crossing and neat short passing from the left, rather than physical dominance. Raised in the Legia Warsaw academy, he moved to Brighton in 2020 and spent several loan spells away before a three-year spell in Germany. He has represented Poland at senior level.
Made his Legia Warsaw debut in August 2019 and won the Ekstraklasa title with them in 2019-20.
