Merwan Ifnaoui is a French attacking midfielder who also operates from the right side, a technical creator who looks to link play between the lines. He came up through the lower French divisions with Gennevilliers and Racing Club de France, after a spell in Portugal with Lagoa, then became the star of Red Star in the third tier. He joined Troyes in June 2025 and now plays for the club in Ligue 1 after its promotion as Ligue 2 champions.
Named best player of the 2023-24 Championnat National by the French Football Federation, as Red Star won the title.
