Mamadou Diop is a Mauritanian goalkeeper born in Senegal who stands 2.04 metres tall, an exceptional height that gives him a big aerial reach and a commanding presence in his penalty area. He began at Istres in the fifth tier, moved through Gueugnon and Chambly and signed his first professional contract with Grenoble in 2022. After 61 appearances in four seasons there, he joined Auxerre in Ligue 1 in July 2026 on a four-year deal. He has been called up to Mauritania's national team since March 2025.
